In My Basket: November 2016

You may or may not have noticed I haven't posted anything in a while. I just haven't been in the right mind set to continue with any of my blogging the past few months, and have really struggled to focus on getting back into it. So I'm just going to put this up, and start the ball rolling again, and hope my inspiration continues.

So, I haven't been reading much the past few months either. Have bought a lot of new books, obviously, and some of them are beautiful. But they do need to be read, as that is what books are intended to be used for. So these are some of the books I'm aiming to read this month for November.

One by Sarah Crossan

Grace and Tippi. Two sisters. Two hearts. Two lives. One body. Grace and Tippi are conjoined twins, joined at the waist, defying the odds of survival for sixteen years. They share everything, and they are everything to each other. They would never imagine being apart. For them, that would be the real tragedy.

But something is happening to them. Something they hoped would never happen. And Grace doesn't want to admit it. Not even to Tippi.

How long can they hide from the truth - how long before they must face the most impossible choice of their lives? (from Goodreads).

When this book was released last year, it sounded so fascinating. I'd never read anything about conjoined twins before, as there really aren't many books around. I had every intention of buying it at the time, and then just never did. Having finally purchased it, it's on my list to be read in the next few weeks. I have every hope it's as amazing and thought-provoking as people have told me it is.

Gemina (The Illuminae Files #2) by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Hanna Donnelly is the station captain's pampered daughter and Nik Malikov is the reluctant member of a notorious crime family. Together they struggle with the realities of life aboard the galaxy's most boring space station, blissfully unaware that Kady Grant and the Hypatia are headed right towards Heimdall with news of the Kerenza invasion (from Goodreads).

I remember reading Illuminae, book 1 in this series, a while back and falling completely in love with Kady, with the adventure, and the style of the story. So I'm genuinely so excited that Gemina has finally been released, and I can't wait to read what's going to happen next, and to meet some new characters.

Empire of Storms (Throne of Glass #5) by Sarah J. Maas

The long path to the throne has only just begun for Aelin Galathynius. Loyalties have been broken and bought, friends have been lost and gained, and those who possess magic find themselves at odds with those who don't.

As the kingdoms of Erilea fracture around her, enemies must become allies if Aelin is to keep those she loves from falling to the dark forces poised to claim her world. With war looming on all horizons, the only chance for salvation lies in a desperate quest that may mark the end of everything Aelin holds dear (from Goodreads).

Anyone who reads my blog posts will know Sarah J. Maas is probably my favourite author at the moment. No, not probably. Most definitely. The Throne of Glass series is one of my ultimate favourite series, and this is the penultimate book. Not sure if I could actually cope when book 6 is released next year. I'll probably just cry a lot.

On the 6th of September, I woke up at a few minutes past midnight to read this book when it was released. It was everything I wanted, but a full review will be coming for it. I just needed to remind myself to actually do it, so here it is on my list.
